Chain hotels in London continued to perform well in November 2007, according to new figures.
Research organisation TRI Hospitality Consulting said that hotel rooms in the capital had the highest occupancy rate of any city in Europe at 86.7 per cent, exceeding that of its closest rivals, Amsterdam (84.8 per cent) and Paris (83.8 per cent).
Jonathan Langston, managing director of the firm, commented: "Overall, London's chain hotels are generating the most revenue and profit due to the winning combination of high volume and sales."
Its comes as further good news for those interested in working in hotels in the capital, with Deloitte's HotelBenchmark Survey revealing earlier this month that the sector had a good year in 2007.
Lorna Clarke, the executive director of the survey, commented that London had "been able to capitalise on stronger economic conditions and high profile events such as the Tour de France Grand Depart".
The event, which took place in July, attracted an estimated one million people to the city to see professional cyclists race around London before heading off to France for the rest of the race.
