Contract catering jobs have been secured in Alnwick, Northumberland, after pharmaceutical firm sanofi-aventis awarded a new deal to manage services at its site in the town.
Wilson Vale Catering Management has taken over catering services at the plant and also at two others in Holmes Chapel and Dagenham.
Craig Taylor of sanofi-aventis said the company was "happy" with the services it has been receiving, adding that a 25 per cent rise in takings had been witnessed since the new contract commenced.
Commenting on the deal, Andrew Wilson, co-manager of Wilson Vale Catering Management, said that in the current economic climate, clients are looking for even more of a balance between cost and service.
"We were able to demonstrate our ability to deliver outstanding locally-sourced food and exceptional service at great value to the business," he added.
Just along the A1 from Alnwick, Sodexo Prestige recently signed a contract to provide conference, banqueting and visitor catering services at the Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
