Whitbread could provide hotel jobs as part of UK expansion opportunities

Hospitality company Whitbread has said it is looking at "substantial opportunities" for more growth in the UK, providing positive news for those in search of hospitality jobs.

Following the announcement of Andy Harrison as its next chief executive, Whitbread's chairman Anthony Habgood commented: "We believe that Andy's skills and experience are ideally suited to lead Whitbread in taking advantage of these opportunities."

Mr Harrison has made the move over from low-cost airline easyJet and will replace Alan Parker, who has decided to retire when he turns 64 on November 25th this year.

The new chief executive said he was delighted to be joining Whitbread, which is responsible for operating brands such as Costa Coffee, Premier Inn and Beefeater.

It is also the UK's largest hotel and restaurant company, running market-leading businesses in the budget hotels and restaurant sectors.

Whitbread currently employs over 33,000 people in hotel jobs and other positions, serving nine million customers every month in 1,800 outlets across the country.
