People looking to get into restaurant jobs in London should make sure that they are well-qualified and of a high calibre, according to one expert, who believes the profession is no place for novices.
A London pub landlord, who remained nameless, wrote to the Evening Standard to discuss catering, saying that he believes there needs to be more top-end students applying for jobs in the industry.
"Catering as a career is a profession well worth getting into and which needs more high-calibre people," he told the newspaper.
The landlord added that there are some companies which are trying to get graduates to run pubs as soon as they come out of university, which he said is wrong because they do not have enough experience.
Alan Francis, transport spokesperson for the Green Party of England and Wales, recently said that at the moment the logistical links in the UK are not good enough and need to be improved so industries like food transport do not cause large carbon emissions.
