The home of a former shopping centre is set to be renovated and turned into a multi-million pound village square packed with a health centre, library and a cafe, according to one newspaper.
Runcorn and Widnes World reported on the new development at the Castlefields site, which is part of a £93 million investment partnership to revitalise the 40-year-old town estate.
"This development is crucial to the future of Castlefields and Halton. It is an absolutely excellent example of the public and private sectors working together to achieve improvements for local people," Halton MP Derek Twigg told the publication.
The Castlefields regeneration partnership includes organisations such as Halton Council, the HCA and Liverpool Housing Trust and they have been seeing how the project is developing.
Alexia Robinson, organiser of Love British Food and British Food Fortnight, said that quality is what people care about when it comes to food and the UK has a high standard of food production.
