A newly reopened cafe is giving school children the chance to create a name and logo for the eatery, according to one newspaper.

The Melton Times reported that pupils at Grove Primary, in Asfordby Road, have been given the opportunity to put their stamp on the cafe, formerly known as The Kitchen, by its new owners, Ferhat and Gulhit Say.

"Mr Say came to us after seeing the projects we were displaying as part of our Creative Partnership programme. The scheme involves using arts in education, so this competition - which is around 'breakfast and brunches' - fits well," Debra Weston, a teacher at The Grove, told the newspaper.

Ferhat Say added that he thinks it is a great idea to get children involved with the design of the logo because it gives them a chance to express their entrepreneurial spirit.

The Hull Daily Mail recently reported on the plans from John Hawley, the former Bradford City, Arsenal and Sunderland footballer, who wants to breathe new life into the former Jaz Café Bar, which closed earlier this month in the city.
