Cyclist cafe 'plans to offer necessary service'

A new cafe in Lancashire will offer employment opportunities in the area and give cyclists a pleasant place to stop off while travelling through the Ribble Valley, according to one newspaper.
The Lancashire Telegraph reported on the new cafe, which has been planned by former Lancashire Constabulary Detective Constable Ian Gibbs, who wants to provide a resting point for Ribble Valley cyclists.
He said: "The proposal will create additional sustainable employment, will assist in encouraging greater cycling and visitor activity in the wider area and reuse an existing building, which are all local and regional government aims."
Mr Gibbs added that the facility will merely be a service for people travelling through the valley, rather than being an attraction in its own right.
The Hull Daily Mail recently reported on the plans from John Hawley, the former Bradford City, Arsenal and Sunderland footballer, who wants to breathe new life into the former Jaz Café Bar, which closed earlier this year in the city.
