With less than two years to go until the 2012 Olympic Games in London, Lloyds Banking Group is urging businesses to actively search for remaining contract opportunities, which could create hundreds of hospitality jobs.
Most of the large contracts have now been secured, but smaller businesses, including those in the catering and hospitality sectors, could benefit from a number of supply chain opportunities that are emerging.
Chris Daniels, head of Lloyds Banking Group's London 2012 business team, said: "Put simply, businesses that are already involved are now scouting for other firms to help them."
"These contracts are truly wide open to businesses anywhere in the country, no matter what their sector," he added.
Mr Daniels went on to say that those who act now and grasp these opportunities will realise the potential economic benefits of the Games.
Earlier this month, Jules Pipe, the mayor of Hackney, told the Economist that he believes the broadcasting and media centres in the Olympic Park will have a knock-on effect on the hospitality sector, creating many jobs in coffee shops, bars and restaurants.
