A handbook has been launched by National Skills Academy Hospitality providing those hoping to go into chef jobs with an insight into the industry.

The Handbook 2010 is aimed at hospitality sector businesses of all sizes, from restaurants and hotels to fast food eateries, pubs and cafes.

As well as industry insight, it provides advice, case studies and an overview of the best training and development solutions in the industry.

It also includes details of newly-endorsed hospitality management solutions and of the academy's new Training Centre.

David McHattie, chief executive at National Skills Academy Hospitality, said: "World-class service is within the reach of all hospitality businesses, irrespective of size and location, but requires more than just a simple last generation customer service course."

Many school leavers may be looking to get into jobs in the hospitality industry, as the University and College Admissions Service recently announced that as many as 200,000 people who have just received their A-level results could miss out on a place at university.
