ISS Education is to create a number of contract catering jobs in Richmond as it has just signed a major new deal.

The company will provide school meals to children in 29 educational establishments across the south-west London borough, the Soil Association reports.

It has announced its commitment to serving school dinners that meet the Food for Life Catering Mark silver award criteria.

This is a unique award from the Soil Association, which recognises caterers who serve freshly-prepared meals that do not contain additives and are better for animal welfare.

Rob Sexton, chief executive of Soil Association Certification said: "It's fantastic to see Richmond joining the 13 other London boroughs where school dinners meet the Food for Life Catering Mark criteria, bringing fresh and healthy meals to over 82,000 school children every day."

Later this week, Soil Association Scotland will employ people in contract catering jobs to provide local and organic food at the Royal Highland Show.
