The Orchid Group is currently midway through a £1.5 million investment programme that, once complete, could result in the creation of many bar jobs and pub manager positions across the country.
Ultimate Leisure, Orchid's late-night clubs and bars division, is focusing on improving the appearance of its venues to attract punters who now have a number of late-night pubs, bars and clubs to choose from in an increasingly competitive market.
"Currently, Orchid is one of the few businesses actively investing in the late-night market and the results, so far, have been very encouraging," said Adam Bowers, head of marketing for Ultimate Leisure.
The company recently re-launched the Bambu nightclub in Newcastle, Beach in Belfast and City Vaults bar in Newcastle.
It is soon to channel more money towards refurbishing venues across the north including the Cotton Factory Huddersfield, Halo/Quilted Llama in Leeds, Sea in Newcastle and Irene & Nans, Bar Bacca and La Lea in Belfast.
Rival national pub/bar chain JD Wetherspoons recently opened a new venue in Leeds, called The Hedley Verity, which created a number of bar jobs in the city.
