Hundreds of hotel jobs could be created in Cambridge if plans to build a new venue are approved by the local council.
The hotel, which would have 157 bedrooms and a bar, would be located near to Cambridge railway station, Cambridge-news.co.uk reports.
It would be built by Station Road Developments on behalf of O'Callaghan Hotels.
Other facilities at the hotel would include a restaurant, meeting rooms, gym facilities, disabled parking and a bicycle parking area.
The newspaper reports the planning statement as saying that the hotel would provide "an ideal opportunity to meet the identified deficiency in short-stay accommodation" in the city.
Back in 2007, an application for a 149-bedroom hotel at the same site on Station Road was approved by the council.
Last month, the news website reported that plans for a new £20 million luxury hotel to be built on the edge of Cambridge had been put to the council.
The developers said that the new 296-bedroom venue would create more than 100 hotel jobs.
