A bar in Boston, Lincolnshire, has undergone refurbishment work and reopened with a totally new look and two new people in pub manager jobs.

The Napoleon, known as Naps to many of the locals, has been revitalised thanks to a project carried out by Bateman's Brewery of Wainfleet and the reopening ceremony was marked with a special appearance by a local celebrity, the Boston Standard reported.

Boston United goalkeeper Paul Bastock joined new pub owners Kelly and Tom Homer and Bateman's Brewery managing director, Stuart Bateman, to mark the occasion.

The owners made a speech thanking the brewery for investing in the facility and being "at the heart of the community", enabling them to transform the venue, which now has a sporting theme and features sporting regalia, including a football shirt signed by Brazilian footballer Pele.

Today, Lincolnshire is playing host to the final of the Young UK Chef of the Year seafood competition, which is taking place at Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education's Gallery Restaurant.
