Plans have been revealed for a new £17 million boutique hotel in Liverpool's city centre that is expected to create a number of local jobs in the area.
Architect and building consultant firm Purcell Miller Tritton (PMT) intends to renovate a turn-of-the-century ramshackle old office block, transforming it into a stylish 90-bedroom boutique hotel, according to Caterer and Hotelkeeper.
James Sanderson, chief executive of PMT, told the publication he is "thrilled to be involved in the preliminary stage of such an exciting project."
Features of the hotel will include a restaurant, a bar, board rooms and a luxury health spa, which will be located in the building's basement.
Planners are now seeking an organisation to take the hotel on and run it.
Liverpool is this year's European Capital of Culture, bringing visitors to the area and a predicted £100 million boom to the north-west economy according to one source, boosting employment in general.
