Progression for two ex-Savoy employees

Two loyal and experienced hospitality workers previously employed by the famous Savoy hotel in London have been appointed to high-ranking positions at prestigious hospitality establishments, according to a source.

Big Hospitality has reported that Michael Halsall will take up the role of director of sales and marketing at the luxurious Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh and Richard Spears will become restaurant manager at the Winter Garden Restaurant at the Landmark Hotel in London.

Michael will be responsible for 16 staff in his new position and Richard will head up a team of 50 employees.

With emphasis certainly on maintaining established high standards, both men will have lots of responsibilities and targets.

"I look forward to building on the success that The Balmoral has enjoyed over the past few years," Michael said of his achievement.

New restaurant manager Richard spent 24 years at the Savoy, having initially enrolled on the management training scheme, the news provider reports, reflecting how important training and progression can be to hospitality workers.
