The annual one-day golf event organised by the Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) Scotland has been hailed as "a great success", it has been revealed.
Held at the new Carrick course at the De Vere Deluxe Cameron House Resort next to Loch Lomond, funds raised on the day amounted to £6,500 for HIT Scotland's scholarship and bursary schemes, reflecting the participants' commitment to training in the hospitality industry.
The winning team were the Glasgow Heroes, comprised of Bob Lamb from fresh food catering company Brakes, and Fergus Chambers, David Melvin and David Mechin from Glasgow city council.
Caterer.com was happy to support and be present at the event, with attending regional sales director Joby Mussell describing the day as "fun and social".
The golf day saw 19 teams pit it out for the top title, but emphasis was certainly on the team spirit felt on the day towards the occasion's cause, unhindered and unspoilt by "the torrential rain".
David Cochrane, chief executive of HIT Scotland, said: "I think we all remembered that a great event is about camaraderie and having fun, in all conditions, although a breathtaking backdrop and wonderful venue certainly helps."
HIT Scotland has supported excellence and helped "people to achieve their potential within Scottish hospitality" for 14 years, according to the organisation's website.
