A new hotel could be built as part of a £120 million redevelopment of a derelict riverbank site in Norwich, it has been reported.

The Advertiser reveals that Hilton Garden Inn has agreed with the developer of St Ann's Wharf to build a 125-room facility, bringing a further 60 full-time hospitality jobs to Norwich by 2011.

When completed, the hotel could include conference rooms, a restaurant and bar, a gym and a 24-hour snack shop, while rooms are expected to retail at around £55 per night.

City Living Developments is also planning to build 400 apartments and houses, extensive retail and leisure facilities and a new bridge as part of the regeneration scheme.

Company chairman Garry Coaley said the firm had been working very closely with Norwich City Council to ensure a scheme of the "highest quality" is delivered.

Father and son Rodney and Ian Scott recently told the Eastern Daily Press how they have brought hospitality jobs to Gorleston on the Norfolk coast since opening the Prom Hotel and adjoining pub.
