Hotel jobs have been created in Gloucester with the opening of a new Travelodge facility, it has been reported.
Councillor Chris Witts, the mayor of Gloucester, officially has officially opened the £3.8 million hotel, which is situated at the new Quays development.
Each room at the hotel offers mood lighting, a luxury king-size bed, en suite bathroom facilities, a flat screen TV free tea and coffee making facilities and Wi-fi, reports the Gloucestershire Echo.
Local MP Parmjit Dhanda said the hospitality recruitment benefits of the new development were evident.
He commented: "At this difficult economic time, having a new branch of such a successful and well-established hotel company is great news for businesses in Gloucester.
"Affordable accommodation in the heart of Gloucester will create new jobs, attract visitors to the area and support the local economy."
The Swindon Advertiser recently reported that hospitality jobs could be created in the town, with talks between Swindon council, Muse Developments and regeneration group The New Swindon Company underway over a new hotel development.
