Hotel jobs in Wales could soon become available if plans to build a new £4 million property in Rhyl get the go-ahead.

Belfast-based Killultagh Estates has applied to build a two-storey, 54-room facility beside the town's White Rose shopping centre overlooking the promenade, reports the Daily Post.

Killultagh Estates manager Richard Steenson told the newspaper: "We recognise Rhyl as an important tourism destination and are delighted to be a part of the growth of this important town."

He added that the plans would also see the floor area of the White Rose shopping centre increased and the addition of a new food court, which could create restaurant jobs in Wales.

The company has commissioned HKR Architects, also based in Northern Ireland, to design the building.

Hospitality recruitment in Wales received another boost recently with the announcement that Legacy Hotels and Resorts is set to run the former Quality Hotel in Cardiff, reports News Wales.
