New hotel jobs look set to be created in Surrey after plans to develop the old Brooklands racetrack were confirmed.
The site, which is now home to Mercedes-Benz World, has been earmarked for a new 120-room hotel by Hilwood Resorts.
If the project goes ahead, part of the original race circuit will be marked out in granite in the reception area.
The hotel will have 120 rooms and will overlook the current track which is used by Mercedes-Benz.
It will also offer spa, gym and conferencing facilities and the location has good links to local attractions such as Sandown Park.
New hotel jobs also look set to be created elsewhere in the south-east of England.
Earlier this month, Hampshire Country Cricket Club revealed that it will be building a hotel as part of the redevelopment of its Rose Bowl ground.
