Hotel jobs created when a new Travelodge opened in Norwich recently have got off to a good start, the Norwich Evening News reports.
The Central Riverside Travelodge just off Prince of Wales Road in Norwich created 25 hotel jobs when it opened at a cost of £3 million earlier in December.
And boss Liam Swift says that the first few weeks have been a great success.
Mr Swift, Travelodge's district manager for East Anglia, told the news provider: "The new hotel has been virtually full since we opened so it's been a good start. There is a good mix of corporate and leisure businesses in Norwich and it is proving an increasingly popular tourist destination."
Local boy ten-year-old Luke Seaman won a competition to mark its opening, which saw entrants having to design their dream hotel and the St William's Primary School pupil won his family a Travelodge weekend break.
The budget hotel company recently announced it plans to create 250 hotel jobs in 2010 with the opening of ten new hotels in the UK.
