Coventry's Hilton will undergo an £800,000 refurbishment as part of a major investment scheme by the hotel chain, reports the Coventry Telegraph.

The Walsgrave site is one of 16 UK hotels set to benefit from improvements and hotel managers believe that the new look will attract customers.

More than half of the hotel's bedrooms will be refurbished by early summer.

Other hotels will have upgrades to bedrooms, bars, restaurants and public areas and some will see the launch of The Space lounge concept, starting with the Hilton Newbury North.

A new restaurant and redesigned lobby have already been completed at the Hilton London Gatwick Airport and work on the rest of the hotels is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

John Dixon, general manager of Hilton Coventry, told the news provider: "We consistently aim to enhance our guest experience, and with this refurbishment we are delighted to be improving what the hotel has to offer."

A £320,000 refurbishment was recently completed at Edinburgh Airport's Hilton hotel, reports the Edinburgh Evening News.
