Star athlete to support hospitality recruitment event

Hotelympia, a charity event supporting hospitality recruitment, has received the support of top athlete Perri Shakes Drayton.

The event, taking place at 09:30 GMT on Sunday February 28th at London's ExCeL centre, includes a 10km run in aid of Springboard - a charity which helps young, unemployed and disadvantaged people with information and advice, skills development opportunities and work experience in the hospitality industry.

A 2012 Olympic hopeful in the 400m hurdles, Shakes Drayton is lending her support to the event and will present the prizes at the awards ceremony after the race.

Great Britain athletics coach Chris Zah will also attend the event to start the race as a guest of honour.

There will be a pre-race Pasta Party, sponsored by Novotel and Barilla, from 20:00 GMT the night before the race in the Novotel at ExCel. All the proceeds will again go towards the Springboard charity to improve young people's chances in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry.

Hotelympia has support from a number of companies including Heinz and Cadbury.
