Starwood announces new hotel jobs boost for Europe

People looking for hotel jobs will be pleased to hear about plans from a major firm to launch 50 new hotels in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide revealed at the International Hotel Investment Forum in Berlin that it will look to open the new complexes by 2012.

Simon Turner, president of global development at Starwood, said that the company has a big enough footprint to enjoy the positives that come from "being an established and leading hotel operator" in the most popular destinations across the world.

"There are still numerous markets in this vast division where we have an opportunity to launch our nine distinct and compelling brands," Mr Turner commented.

Starwood recently announced that it will be investing more than $4 billion (£2.66 billion) in new hotel openings across four continents , with new hotels in various countries across the world, including the US, Colombia, India, Russia and Slovakia.
