An improvement in staff morale is one of the key benefits that winning a major award has provided The Gisborough Hall Hotel, which could be one a factor which attracts those looking for hotel jobs.

Kim Yardley, general manager of the four-star establishment, stated that winning the Best Large Hotel Award 2009 category in the North East England Tourism Awards has boosted staff pride, nebusiness.co.uk reported.

She explained that the hotel originally put itself forward as a way of recognising and rewarding the contribution that staff make to the facility.

Ms Yardley told the news provider: "We have also given each member of staff a copy of the award to put in their personal portfolio, to show they were part of an award-winning team."

Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2010 North East England Tourism Awards and the eventual winners could provide inspiration for those looking at hotel jobs.
