A derelict building in Cardiff is set to be transformed into an eco-friendly hotel by an ethical hospitality firm that already owns properties in the Welsh city.
WalesOnline reported on the venture by Jolyon Joseph and his company The Green Duck Group, which has already established Bar Cwtch and the Jolyon Boutique hotel in Cardiff Bay and will now transform a period property on Cathedral Road.
"This new building has maintained its original beautiful period features, but will benefit from the modern, environmentally-friendly touches we plan to add. It is also the perfect location for my first signing, as Cardiff is a booming city with an increasing tourism trade," he said.
The proprietor added that the hotel will be finished to Carbon Trust standards and combine hi-tech environmental features and advanced construction methods.
Recently, the BBC reported on the plans for Mumbles Pier in Swansea, which have been submitted to Swansea council and include proposals for a boardwalk, family entertainment centre and hotel.
