Hotel plans added to business park development

New plans for a 55-bedroom hotel have been unveiled and will see the establishment take shape at the under-construction Riverside Business Park in Barrowford, which is situated near Burnley.

The Burnley Citizen reported on the plans at the park that will be headed up by the Peel Group developers, which also wants to add a pub restaurant, creche and two more office buildings, as well as the hotel.

Pendle Council leader Mike Blomele told the publication: "I have not looked at the application in any great detail, so it would be wrong of me to comment on the specifics. But to talk about the principle of that development, it is certainly developing into a successful business park."

The leader added that, in general terms, investment in the retail park needed to be welcomed.

Riverside Business Park is situated just off Junction 13 of the M65 Motorway linking Pendle with the major Lancashire towns of Preston, Blackburn and Burnley.
