Scottish hospitality employers up for new awards

Hospitality employers from across Scotland are battling it out to win a title in the inaugural Best Employers in Hospitality Awards 2010.
Run by Caterer.com, these awards celebrate the best employers in the hospitality industry and are voted for by a special team of judges - their employees.
There are 12 award categories, including Individual Hotel, Group Hotel and Individual Bar/Pub.
The best visitor attraction, bed and breakfast and tour operator will also be honoured with awards.
Employers of those working in hotels, bars, restaurants and pubs can enter online, where they will be asked to fill out a form containing a series of work-related questions.
Caterer.com speculated that the winners will be seen as more appealing employers and will, therefore, be able to attract and hold on to the best staff.
The awards ceremony will take place at Prestonfield House, Edinburgh, on September 28th.
In news related to hospitality employment in Scotland, the Aberdeen Press and Journal reported earlier this week that 40 hotel jobs had been created at Melville Castle Hotel in Edinburgh.
