Plans to redevelop Bristol Airport, which would bring a number of jobs to the city, have been lodged with North Somerset Council.
The plans for the £150 million redevelopment of the airport include the construction of a 250-bedroom hotel, the Evening Post reports.
Pedersen Hotels, which already owns three hotels in Bristol, employing hundreds of staff, put together the planning application.
"An on-site hotel has long been high on the list of facilities requested by our passengers," Robert Sinclair, the chief executive at the airport, told the newspaper.
He went on to say that the proposed hotel development would create a service that visitors to the south-west already expect to be available at the airport.
Earlier this month, the newspaper reported that football club Bristol City has plans to create a new arena near its new stadium, which could also involve the creation of a conference centre with hotel accommodation.
