Travelodge has created 140 summer hotel jobs following its takeover of more than 50 Innkeeper's Lodges.

Many of the positions will be filled over the coming months, but not all will be temporary summer hospitality positions.

The budget hotel company recently purchased a total of 52 new properties across the UK and is now seeking 40 hotel managers.

Other jobs that the company is recruiting for include night porters, cleaners and receptionists.

Debbie Husband, regional operations director of Travelodge, said that the firm is looking for "enthusiastic, motivated and committed individuals" to fill the advertised hotel jobs.

"At Travelodge we believe in developing our people and offer a variety of in-house training and career advancement programmes," she explained.

The hotels that Travelodge has obtained include a number of Grade II listed buildings and range from having 21 to 85 rooms.

Travelodge is to invest £10 million in converting the hotels to bring them in line with the company's standards.
