New owners have taken over the Durker Roods Hotel in Meltham, which means that more hotel jobs could be created in West Yorkshire.
Local entrepreneurs Pauline and Richard Hough have bought the hotel and have started to revitalise the picturesque building, the Huddersfield Examiner reports.
They bought the hotel for around £700,000 and will spend even more in restoring it back to its former glory.
"The grounds are beautiful and the house is splendid. We want to make it into a busy, bustling hotel as part of what is a busy, bustling village," said the new owners' daughter Fiona Hough.
She revealed to the newspaper that work to refurbish the bedrooms, corridors and communal areas had already begun.
The hotel's eatery will also be revamped, potentially creating new restaurant jobs in the area.
Last month, Land Securities confirmed that its plans to build a new shopping development, which will include restaurants, in West Yorkshire were going ahead.
The Trinity Leeds shopping development stalled during the economic downturn but is now back on track.
