New hotel jobs have been created in Aberdeen as a venue has opened in the Scottish city.

The £30 million, six-storey Radisson Park Inn city centre hotel boasts 185 bedrooms and is located on Justice Mill Lane.

It will be run by the Rezidor Hotel Group, which owns the brands Radisson Blu, Park Inn by Radisson, Regent, Country Inn and Hotel Missoni.
"The hotel has not only created 50 new jobs but will be a major contributor to the local economy as part of the overall £75 million iQ development project," first minister Alex Salmond told the Scotsman.

Edinburgh-based Hazledene Group, which is owned by Aberdonian businessman Mark Shaw, will oversee the running of the project.

The Rezidor Hotel Group recently announced that a Radisson Blu Hotel is to open at East Midlands Airport in 2012.

It will feature 216 guest rooms and will be located 800 metres away from the main terminal on the M1.
