The Point Hotel in Edinburgh has launched two new loyalty cards that feature contactless technology, those seeking hotel jobs in Scotland may be interested to learn.

Called the Point Hotel Loyalty Card and the Ambassador Card, the technology used is from the company's Quid.

Those who own a Point Hotel Loyalty Card will receive £1 worth of rewards for every £5 they spend.

These reward points can be redeemed on food and drink in the hotel's restaurant or bar.

Ronald Little, general manager at the Point Hotel, said that he was "very excited" about the launch of the loyalty cards.

"As well as rewarding our loyal customer we can encourage them to come back again and again by offering unique rewards available only to cardholders," he added.

Last month, international property firm Palm Holdings bought two boutique hotels in Edinburgh - the Howard in Great King Street and Channings in Stockbridge - and promised to restore them.
