Jurys Inn picks up top Investors in People award

Jurys Inn has been handed the gold Investors in People standard, in recognition of the opportunities it provides for those seeking hotel jobs in the UK and abroad.

With sites in city centres across the UK, Ireland and Czech Republic, the Irish hotel group was named the Best Independent Hotel Brand in last year's Business Travel Awards.

The Investors in people report describes Jurys Inn as a cutting-edge organisation operating at the very highest levels of people management practice.

It praised the company's commitment to employees, not least for its focus on internal recruitment for hotel jobs.

Around 90 per cent of current Jurys Inn hotel managers were promoted from within the organisation.

Chief executive John Brennan said: "The gold recognition achieved by Jurys Inn marks a significant step forward in the hotel group's commitment to creating and supporting exceptional people."

The recent opening of a Jurys Inn hotel in Gateshead brought more than 80 new hospitality jobs to the north-east of England.
