A survey from Choice Hotels Europe has found just over half of people in hotel management jobs are expecting to see a boost in trade from the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Choice Hotels, which operates the Clarion, Comfort and Quality brands, owns over 40 UK establishments and nearly 500 across Europe.

Its survey of British operators found 51 per cent of owners and general managers are expecting all hotels to benefit from incoming tourism and an increase in trade over the summer, while 18 per cent feel the improvement will be confined to places within the M25.

Furthermore, 29 per cent think only hotels in England's capital city will see any benefit.

Duncan Berry, UK chief executive officer of Choice Hotels Europe, commented: "Our survey reveals mixed views on whether hotels across the whole of the UK will see a benefit from the inbound tourism expected from the Games."

A survey from Deloitte recently revealed UK business sentiment to be swinging behind the Olympics, with 87 per cent expecting positive opportunities over the summer.
