Linlithgow revitalisation bid may involve hotel

The Scottish town of Linlithgow could see a boost in hospitality recruitment among other job opportunities through plans from property developer Wallace Land to invest £90 million in revitalising the area.

Wallace Land argued roughly 500 jobs could be generated overall through the scheme, which it has passed to West Lothian Council for a decision on planning permission.

As part of the project the site would be linked to the M9 motorway and involve residential housing and a care home as well as the proposed hotel and dance studio.

"The development is a win-win for Linlithgow and we would like to thank the community for their considerable input to this process and look forward to continuing the dialogue with them," said Jason Wallace, owner of Wallace Land.

He added that the project would offer comprehensive improvement to the facilities available to people in Linlithgow and hopefully attract further investment to the area.

Linlithgow is within travelling distance of both Glasgow and Edinburgh, making it a popular destination for tourists planning to see either city.
