Hotel recruitment in Liverpool has been given a boost through the news that budget hotel firm Travelodge is set to open two new establishments in the city, creating roughly 60 jobs in the process.
This comes as part of an ongoing expansion effort from Travelodge after a good trading performance in 2011, with the company poised to invest £246 million into opening 41 hotels and creating 1,000 jobs over the course of the year.
In Liverpool, the two new outlets will be on the Strand, opposite the Albert Dock, and on Exchange Street.
Travelodge chief executive officer Guy Parsons said Liverpool has been pinpointed as a potential growth area.
"Annually Liverpool welcomes over 75 million business and leisure visitors and in the last two years we have seen a growing trend from travellers seeking good quality, low cost accommodation," said Mr Parsons.
BDRC Continental recently suggested that more people are staycationing in the UK as standards of service rise in the country's hospitality industry.
