US restaurant chain Chipotle continues expansion

Chipotle Mexican Grill could offer more catering jobs in London after announcing plans to open a third restaurant in the capital city, this one in Soho.

Real estate firm Cushman and Wakefield has acquired the former Otarain restaurant on Wardour Street on the organic fast food chain's behalf as it attempts to expand its operation in the UK.

It has existing outlets on Charing Cross Road and Baker Street, and runs over 1,100 restaurants in the US.

Thomas Rose, associate in Cushman and Wakefield's leisure and restaurant team, said the brand had strong values centred on the concept of food with integrity.

"It will be a real asset to the growing restaurant scene in Soho. This site is in a great corner location," he added.

In July of last year Chipotle put forward plans to move into the European and British markets after a successful trial in London's Charing Cross. The company turns over roughly £1.1 billion a year.
