The Danish-owned Japanese restaurant concept Sticks'n'Sushi could create chef de partie jobs by kick-starting its UK operation with the opening of a new eatery in Wimbledon, which will be the company's first British establishment.

Currently the group runs nine restaurants in the Copenhagen area of Denmark, reports BigHospitality.

It has decided on the move to London because it feels England's capital city has the infrastructure and investment potential to allow the company to expand.

Andreas Karlsson, operations director for Sticks'n'Sushi, explained the restaurant aims to offer its customers an accessible experience.

"You want to explain it is more than just sushi we are offering. It is a good range on our menus," added Mr Karlsson.

Previous sushi imports such as Wagamama have met with success in the UK but Karlsson stressed this new eatery provides a more "luxury" experience.

The restaurant, which is expected to open in March, claims to offer new staff a creative opportunity in their work.
