Fuller's enjoys strong Christmas trading

People in pub jobs at the London-based Fuller's bar and hotel company enjoyed a successful Christmas as like-for-like sales increased and the firm completed several new acquisitions.
The group has announced its trading performance for the 42 weeks up to January 21st, noting that in the nine weeks prior to this date it enjoyed a 5.2 per cent increase in sales on a year-on-year basis.
Over 40 of its managed pubs revealed they had benefited from record sales over the festive period.
Chairman Michael Turner expressed his pleasure at these results, but warned against complacency given the year-on-year figures are boosted by the fact that last year's performance was affected by heavy snow.
"2012 is finally here and with the world's attention focused on London, we at Fuller's, our capital city's only long-standing brewer, intend to showcase what is great about British beer and pubs," Mr Turner added.
The company's brewery is based in Chiswick, although its nationwide portfolio of establishments stretches from Battersea to Birmingham.
