The owner of London's prestigious Soho House has discussed his plans to open 20 eateries in the UK this year when he spoke to one newspaper, which could interest people looking for restaurant work.

Richard Caring told the Financial Times that he intends to open the string of new eateries as he looks to build on the success of Soho House and expand into the hotel sector as well.

"We're aggressively in the restaurant area. We will open in the UK this year another 20 restaurants. That's quite aggressive ... we're just looking at something in Sydney, which we're very confident we will do but we haven't signed it yet," he stated.

The entrepreneur also spoke about his time on Carnaby Street working in the fashion world in the 60s, where he started out before moving into the world of hotels and restaurants.

In other news, the renovation of The Waves Café, in Marine Parade, could create restaurant jobs in nearby Somerset if proposals to refurbish it receive planning permission.
