Punch Taverns is offering a new flexible benefits scheme to those it employs in pub and bar jobs in the UK.

This decision follows the consolidation of the company's pension plans back in July, Employee Benefits magazine reports.

The scheme is called the Benefits Bar and is available to 2,700 salaried employees, including those in pub manager jobs.

It includes critical illness insurance, bikes for work, retail vouchers, a computer scheme, dental insurance and a share incentive plan.

Anthony York, head of reward at Punch Taverns, said the scheme was launched to cater for the diverse needs of the company's varied workforce.

Before the launch of the new scheme on January 1st, the pub chain had a fairly limited selection of benefits, including flexible holidays and childcare vouchers.

Back in September, more than 250 Scottish business leaders attended the Best Employers in Hospitality Awards at Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh.
