A new training scheme has been launched to help people running their first bar make the foray into pub manager jobs a success from day one.
The People 1st Training Company and Exemplas are running a series of business Bootcamps for owners and managers of pubs, clubs and bars, giving insider tips and advice to help them grow their venture.
Backed by both the British Beer and Pub Association and the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII), the first Bootcamp will be held from November 7th to 9th in Moorgate, London.
Cathie Smith, director of the BII's awarding body, said the group was "delighted" to offer its support.
The Bootcamps will focus on everything pub manager jobs entail, from how to drum up business and create a loyal customer base, to improving profitability and complying with health and safety laws.
People 1st is the sector skills council for the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries, focusing on transforming skills in the sector through qualifications in management and customer service.
Caterer.com works in partnership with People 1st to produce the quarterly Hospitality Employment Index, which is available for download here.
