Restaurant recruitment in the UK will be buoyed by the news that the Restaurant Group plans to open 25 to 30 new establishments in the coming year, creating around 600 jobs in the industry.

Last year the company opened 25 new restaurants and generated 500 new jobs.

It has announced a 7.25 per cent increase in turnover from 2010 and strong levels of like-for-like sales growth, and expects continued expansion despite challenging economic conditions.

Chief executive officer Andrew Page said profits in 2011 had been considerably better than those seen in the previous year, with cash flow remaining powerful.

"Whilst we expect trading conditions to remain tough in 2012, the team will be working to deliver another year of profitable progress," he added.

With a portfolio comprising brands like Garfunkel's and Chiquito as well as pubs in the Home Counties and North Wales, the Restaurant Group has a significant presence across Britain and offers a variety of different hospitality careers.
