Pub jobs could be generated by Peach in the new year after the company revealed an impressive trading performance in December and suggested it is planning to open new establishments in 2012.

The firm announced like-for-like sales had jumped nine per cent in December 2011, with an overall sales rise of 23 per cent because of new openings, reports Caterer and Hotelkeeper.

It could bring turnover up to £22 million by opening three or four new pubs in the coming months.

Peach co-founder Hamish Stoddart said the Christmas rush had played a major part in increasing trade, along with some tweaks and changes to the services offered by the company's various pubs.

"We're on the lookout for the right opportunities in pubs and bars. We are flexible on tenure, with freehold or tied or untied leaseholds, and are open to ideas," added Mr Stoddard.

Peach was named the best employer in the bar and pub sector at the latest Best Hospitality Employer Awards 2011.
