Hospitality recruitment in the north of England could be given a boost with the news that Manchester-based group Living Ventures is set to open another eight outlets in the area.
The company is looking to invest around £8 million in development plans which could generate roughly 400 bar jobs and other hospitality positions, according to the Manchester Evening News.
It intends to spread the openings out over Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool and move into new territory with a fine dining venture as well as expanding its existing brands like The Alchemist.
Managing director Tim Bacon said: "Diners' appetite for good food in a relaxed environment is still growing. Even in the current climate, people don't want to stay at home."
This reflects data compiled recently by Coffer Peach Business Tracker, which found that pub and restaurant sales increased by 2.1 per cent over November and by 6.2 per cent from the same month last year.
