People in chef jobs in the Lowry Outlet Mall look to have been kept busy over the last 12 months after the Salford Quays development announced a 13 per cent leap in like-for-like restaurant sales over the course of the year.
The recent establishment of BBC North in MediaCityUK has been posited as a reason for the influx of customers to the shopping centre.
Restaurants such as Pizza Express, Bella Italia, Lime and Pond Quay all saw a boost in trade throughout the year.
Centre manager Robert Hallworth said the eateries performed "way above expectations" in 2011.
"The strong anchor restaurant brands on the plaza continue to appeal to our loyal customer base as well as attracting those who are new to the region," he added.
Footfall at the mall rose by 9.3 per cent from last year, with figures for the Plaza entrance registering a 29.3 per cent jump in visitors.
Over 4.7 million people came through the Lowry Outlet Mall in 2011, which also saw an increase in tenants over the course of the year.
