Many bar jobs in Norfolk have been saved as the closure of a village pub has been prevented.

Enterprise Inns, the owner of the Longe Arms on Crostwick Lane, Spixworth, feared that the pub was going to have to close as it struggled to find new owners for the establishment, the Norfolk Eastern Daily Press reports.

Pub regulars Dave Whiting and Eric Donnelly stepped in at the last minute to save the pub, much to the delight of the village's residents.

The pair are now refurbishing the establishment, totally transforming both the inside and outside of the building in time for its reopening on August 27th.

Bob Field, regional manager for Enterprise Inns, told the newspaper that he was looking forward to a "long and successful partnership" with Mr Whiting and Mr Donnelly.

Last month, the Star reported that 26 bar jobs had been saved in Sheffield after the Norfolk Arms pub was taken over by new owners.
