Portadown eatery Zio is set to build on its success by opening a new outlet, possibly creating chef de partie jobs and other catering positions for people in the area.
It is developing new premises on the corner of Church Street and plans to offer around 15 new jobs after the establishment opens to customers in May 2012.
The venue is expected to be dedicated to seafood, with al fresco dining offered to customers during the summer, reports the Portadown Times.
Adrian Farrell, the president of Portadown Chamber of Commerce, described the news as a huge boost for businesses in the town centre.
"I'm delighted, it's great news for the town. I can't wait to see the new restaurant open and it will be lovely to see that open area of the pavement utilised," said Mr Farrell.
He added that the development could help Portadown compete with Northern Ireland's major cities.
The restaurant will join a number of eateries on the town's high street, including the Townhouse Restaurant and Wee Barney's, as Portadown attempts to develop its tourist economy and attract visitors to the area.
