The opening of a new hotel and adjoining restaurant will open up 70 new jobs in the Birmingham area, it has been revealed.

With its 67-bedrooms, the new Premier Inn on the Hagley Road will be in need of a number of workers including those looking for hospitality jobs, restaurant work and bar jobs.

Chef jobs are also set to open up next door at the new 220-seat Beefeater restaurant.

General manager Tracy Reid said: "The decision to open a new Premier Inn and Beefeater at this site is the result of extensive research into the local area.

"I am delighted to be appointed to manage both the hotel and restaurant. Beefeater is a popular brand in the Birmingham area and it is fitting to build the first Beefeater in eight years in the area and celebrate the brand's success.

"I feel that not only will Birmingham residents benefit from this new restaurant and hotel, but so too will people visiting the local area."
